The 1st International Conference on Mechanical Engineering and Applied Science (ICMEAS 2017) was held on February 22-23, 2017 in Dhaka, Bangladesh. The conference, which was organized jointly by the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Military Institute of Science and Technology (MIST), and the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) has accepted more than 300 abstracts. After an initial review of the submitted abstracts, 170 papers were accepted for presentation at the conference. Finally, through a rigorous peer review process, 53 papers are accepted for publication in the AIP Conference Proceeding. The topics that are covered in the conference include Energy, Renewable Energy, Fluid Mechanics, Thermal Engineering, Applied Engineering, Robotics, Automation, Control, Biofuel, BioEngineering, Aerospace, Avionics, Compressible Flow, Numerical Computation, Modelling, and Simulation, Naval and Marine Engineering, Large Scale Design, Heat Transfer, Industrial Production, Engineering Management, Combustion and Reacting Flows, Multiphase Flows, CFD, Micro, and Nano Scale Thermo–Fluid Mechanics, Instrumentation and Measurements, HVAC, Energy Conversion and Clean Energy Technology, Environmental Engineering, and Engineering Science.
